Hummer Crashed Into Oba Of Benin’s Palace Wall, Gets Destroyed, But Not The Wall

Two days, passers-by and motorists were left bewildered at the scene of a crash in Benin City – the Edo state capital.

The crash involved a Hummer 2 SUV that rammed into the wall of the palace of the Oba of Benin.

The shock expressed by the passers-by and motorists was not on account of the crash. Instead, it was due to the fact that the impact on the wall by the Hummer left no damage to the ancient palace wall. Instead, the Hummer was severely damaged.

Note that the earthen (mud) wall of the Oba of Benin is one of the remaining relics of the old Benin Kingdom. The Oba Palace – together with the ancient Benin moats – is one of the numerous tourists’ attractions to the ancient city

Fayemi wants Senate scrapped, Oronsaye report implemented

Ifeanyi Onuba, Abuja

The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has called for the scrapping of the Senate to reduce the size of governance.

He said that going by the current economic realities, the type of legislative system that would really work for the country “is a unicameral legislature.”

Nigeria’s national assembly consists of a Senate with 109 members and a 360-member House of Representatives.

He spoke at one of the panel sessions on the sidelines of the 25th edition of the Nigerian Economic Summit with the theme, ‘Nigeria 2050: Shifting gears.’

The session was attended by the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Babatunde Fowler; Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries, Jordi Borrut Bel, and the Country Manager of the International Finance Corporation, Eme Essien.

Fayemi also said the Stephen Oronsaye committee report that recommended the scrapping and merging of some agencies of the Federal Government should be considered.

He said, “We do need to look at the size of government in Nigeria and I am an advocate of a unicameral legislature. What we really need is the House of Representatives, because that is what represents.

“You have three senators from little Ekiti and you have three senators from Lagos state.

“It’s a no-brainer that it’s unequal, I guess the principle is not proportionality but that if you are a state, you get it automatically.

“But I think that we can do away with that. There are several things that we can do away with within the government.

South African Pastor Comes Clean On Stage Managing Resurrection

Controversial South African preacher Alph Lukau has confessed that the resurrection of a ‘dead man’ was stage managed.

Alph Lukau addressed his Alleluia International Ministries church for the first time on Sunday since a video emerged of a man being resurrected and sitting up in a coffin.

According to Eyewitness News, Lukau told his congregation that miracles are not appreciated.

“When we speak about miracles, we are talking about something that has gone beyond the rationalizations of what we accept as norms.”

Pastor Lukau regretted the whole ordeal in an interview with Power FM’s Drive host, Thabiso Tema.

“Before entering the premises of the church, the coffin began to shake, meaning the person was alive. I am really sorry for the misrepresentation of facts, the man was not dead and has never been in the mortuary as we earlier said,” Mr. Lukau explained.

At the time when the scandalous resurrection occurred, Lukau said he was on his routine duty of preaching the gospel like any other Sunday when he was interrupted and told that a dead man in a coffin was brought to the church.

“We are the house of God and I’m just a pastor serving in the house of the Lord. But I am sorry that we didn’t tell people the truth in the first place,” he added.
